PROCUREMENT OFFICER – INTERN
St Ignatius College is a private non – profit Catholic Jesuit Secondary school located in ibex Hill Lusaka (Zambia) and wholly owned by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). The College is seeking for an Intern who is a dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individual to perform procurement functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the college
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers
- Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and supply from a reputable University;
- Two to Five years’ experience in procurement management
- Professional affiliation a must
